ROAR is the official U.S./Canadian sanctioning body for R/C car and truck competition.

ROAR is responsible for producing and maintaining rules that are fair for all parties involved members and manufacturers alike. As an official IFMAR bloc, ROAR is also responsible for organizing race teams that represent the U.S. and Canada to compete at IFMAR World Championships for all IFMAR CLASSES.

Rules

  • Any wheel/Tire manufactured for competition may be used as long as it meets the class specs.
  • Tires must be of one piece in circumference.
  • No sectioning or piecing tires together.
  • No spikes, tubes, or additional items to be glued to the outside of tires or passed through from the inside.
  • Only tires manufactured for a specific class may be used. Must be rubber only and available as a tire for that class.
  • No tires created for other vehicle types even if they fit the specifications will be allowed.
  • Cutting or modifying the tread is allowed. Modifying the tire carcass in anyway is prohibited.
  • Brakes in working condition on all cars is mandatory. Cars should be able to sit still with the engine still running, while the brakes are applied.Exhaust pipes are also required on every car. The maximum sound level is 85 decibels, measured at a ninety degree angle to the side of the car from a distance of 30 feet, 3 feet above the ground, with the car at maximum throttle and at all speeds. Any pipe made for specific class and engine allowed and legal. No modifications allowed.A car that loses its exhaust pipe will be black-flagged.Variable exhaust timing, porting, or exhaust pipes with movable parts are not allowed.
  • All engines must be available through hobby shops or available to public.
  • Throttle return spring, rubber band, etc must be in place.
  • No Fuel additives
  • Lipo's must be charged in a "lipo" sack unless charged in your trailer. This is for the safety of the surrounding racers.

Slash Clash Rules

Body: All trucks must be the Traxxas Slash body, or aftermarket slash specific bodies.

Chassis: No modifications may be made to the chassis system. Vehicles mst be raced in it's stock form. Original Traxxas Replacement parts only, as supplied on original truck for damaged/worn parts.

Suspension: Both the front & the rear suspension systems must remain in stock form. Original Traxxas parts only. No aftermarket/Hop-up replacement components may be installed.

Legal Tuning Parts: Original Traxxas Shock Springs may be used
Shock Cap may be replaced with Alum Shock Cap #2667
Original Traxxas Turnbuckles maybe used 3139X, 3139A, 3737, 3737A.

Steering: No modifications may be made to the steering system. Original Kit parts only. You may install any servo saver or servo drive-horn that you so choose.

Bearings: Any manufacturer bearing may be used.

Electronics: Original RTR Kit electronics Speed Control (XL-5) & Servo (2075) only. You may install any Receiver you so choose. On board traction/drift device or Gyro's NOT permitted.

Motor: This class is restricted to a stock traxxas Titan 12T R/C motor.

Battery: This class is limited to any 1 - 6, 7, 8 cell " Nicd" , "Nimh" made up of "SubC" size cells. No LIPO.

Wheels: Original Traxxas Slash 2.2" wheel, or after market wheels.

Tires: Original Traxxas 2.2" Slash Tire.

Drive line: Only the original Traxxas Drive Train may be used. No aftermarket or Hop-up replacement drive components may be installed. Traxxas Steel Planetary Gear Differential Only. Any of the 3 Traxxas spur gears (4683, 4686, or 8690) are permitted. Any pinion gear that mounts without modifications needed may be used.

Ball Differentials are NOT permitted in the spec class.

Weight: Who Cares.

Monster Truck (Nitro & Electric) 1/8 & 1/10

To be an Monster Truck, the lowest point of the engine must sit at least 1.5" inches above the lowest point along the front-back centerline when compressed (usually the "skid plates").No flat Chassis plate (1/8 buggy or arena truck) chassis.

To tech questionable ETs, remove the wheels, place MT on flat surface, compress the vehicle fully and a ruler (or 1.5" gage) could be used vertically to measure the engine above the surface. No flat chassis (1/8 buggy style).

Diesel Conversions are legal.

ELECTRIC TRUCKS WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE PIT STOPS OR A BATTERY CHANGE TO EQUAL NITRO STOPS. DURATION AND FREQUENCY TO BE DECIDE AT EACH EVENT..
